About Tayroots

Tayroots.com has been created to assist people who have family history in Angus and Dundee in Scotland to find out more about their ancestral roots, and to encourage them to make a visit to the area. The key local genealogy resources in the area are hosted by Local Government in the county of Angus and the City of Dundee.  

The two Councils have joined forces in a bid to inform researchers about their archives, registrars, libraries and museums, and to attract visitors from across the world to come to the area to walk in the footsteps of their ancestors. 

Tayroots is a major initiative which aims to capitalise on increasing interest in family history worldwide, and to tap into the estimated market of 50 million people across the globe with Scots ancestry, many of whom have their roots in Angus and Dundee.
