Colliston Castle

Colliston Castle is the fairytale venue for anyone looking for a romantic location for their wedding. Nestling in the East Angus countryside, this stunning castle was built in 1545 and is steeped in history.

Colliston CastleBuilt on the grounds of a mansion it has been the home to many illustrious families through the years. The property was granted to John Guthrie by Cardinal Beaton of Arbroath Abbey in 1539 and the Z plan castle was built in 1545. The castle was sold to the Gordon family in 1691 and was then bought by the Chaplin family in 1721 who made it their home until the 1920s. It then passed to the Stuarts who still live there.

Ceremonies or receptions for up to 100 can be held in the castle ballroom, before guests retire to a marquee for dinner and dancing. Receptions for up to 350 can be held in a state of the art marquee, with the caste's stunning entrance hall available for photography. Colliston Castle

The Bride and her parents have the opportunity of spending the evening before the wedding, or the Bride and Groom of spending the first night of their honeymoon, at the castle in luxurious surroundings.
