will take place over three weekends, enticing visitors from around the world to visit Kirriemuir and join with local people in celebrating the life and work of the author and playwright.

Kirriemuir's cobbled streets and public halls will ring to a variety of activities, including a mini-arts festival, theatrical performances, dance, visual arts, and family history research.

The 'Wee Red Toon' of Barrie's youth (many of its buildings are built of the ancient sandstone which gives the Vale of Strathmore its glorious red soil) has become

Kirriemuir - Literary Town, such is the upsurge of interest in its famous son.

Barrie's Birthplace, and the Camera Obscura which he gifted to the people of Kirriemuir, are in the care of the  National Trust for Scotland
