The programme for the 2009 Roots Festival is now online, and highlights include familiarisation tours, a Burns Literary Evening, popular talks on historic topics, genealogy workshops with local specialists, traditional music sessions, a bothy ballad concert, an archive film nght, and visits to local archives.
The Festival is based in both the City of Dundee and in the county of Angus, both once known asForfarshire, and the whole area will be alive with ancestral celebrations this Homecoming Scotland Year. For a flavour of what's in store have a look at our 2008 Roots Festival video.
Plenty of time has been allowed for the personalised research which is so important tovisitors from around the world, and every effort will be made to tailor the opportunities to individual requirements.
