About the Artistes

The 'Key Artistes' hosting the Sessions, with friends:

The sessions begin with RanDan - members are Karen Hannah, a younger but well-travelled fiddle player/teacher; guitar accompaniment and some 'corkers' of songs from Cork man Michael Kelleher; and another two great musicians, David Adam & Kyle Howie on Scottish Small and Border Pipes, plus flute, whistles and accordion.

Mike Ward is the dynamic fiddler from Tannahill Weavers, Alba, Fon a Bhord etc. Driving fiddle tunes and subtle accompaniment.

Plenty more talent in the talented youth section with fiddle-players Eilidh Firth, Lara Findlay, and Co; The Ryan Family - with teenagers Megan and Ciaran Ryan on fiddle and tenor banjo, and Willie Ryan, tin-whistle/bodhran/bones etc.-

Maureen Jelks - fine Dundee singer/workshop leader, well-known for her recordings on 'Coorse and Fine', 'First Time Ever' and 'Eence Upon a Time' -  Dundee sangs, wee sangs and ballads.

Sinsheen - are Christine Kydd and Barbara Dymock - fine singers/workshop leaders, traditional and contemporary songs; unaccompanied, or with guitar (Christine) and bodhran (Barbara).

More great singing from Roy Henderson - songs/guitar, Ken Johnston -  songs/guitar & mandocello, and Lesley McLuckie; singer/guitarist Jim Penny, will also give you a tune on the mandola, and a thump on the bodhran.

Aff the Cuff, function band formed from the regular session at Carnoustie - includes singers, guitars, mandolines, bodhran, fiddle-player Ian Hunter, and Andy Davis on Scottish Small Pipes.

Fine scots tunes, 1800's to present day, from twin fiddlers Gordon & Davie Ewan. Davie also plays button-box.

Pipes, Fiddles, Guitars an' a', music session led by Ian Kinnear - pipe-maker and player of the Scottish Small Pipes - with fiddlers, guitar-players, singers and various - all welcome.

Other artistes include; Nigel Jelks - mandoline, concertina, guitar, fiddle; Niel Jelks - guitar; Iain Milne - banjo.
