Even a lifetime's ancestral research is no substitute for actually visiting Angus & Dundee.
'Walking in your ancestors' footsteps' is something which for many will be a once in a lifetime experience, but for others will be the starting point for many journeys to their ancestral homeland. Angus & Dundee have a lot to offer the visitor, including beautiful countryside and lively historic attractions.
Angus & Dundee Roots Fest 2010 will take place from 23 - 27 September, focusing on Dundee Family History Centre and Angus Archives.
The event is for anyone whose ancestors came from Angus & Dundee. Visit the area then if you can, to get a feel for the place where their ancestor lived, to find out more about your ancestors, and soak up the atmosphere. You'll receive help from our local experts at workshops and advice sessions, and choose other events to join in, including history walks, lectures, archive demonstrations, film shows and musical events.
